Am interested in new nerdy ideas for YouTube videos. These either explain a concept in conservation or ecology or explain a conservation project. These have something to show. Please say if at #ICCB2025 and would like to discuss an idea. https://t.co/RLM3s2z5gq
Just seen something quite heart-breaking while walking with @wildveitch, a swift bouncing off of a building multiple times trying to enter a former nest, before giving up. The accuracy of it's attempt clearly demonstrated a nest used to be present. @WriterHannahBT
@mitchellsnik It sounds like greenwashing BS from the developer and they should be called out for it. I still struggle with why things like nesting opportunities and hedgehog highways (not just for hedgehogs) can't be implemented in new estates.
Why would you want a neat stripy boring lifeless lawn when you can have a shaggy, flower-filled paradise for pollinators? Maybe this short video will provide some inspiration! https://t.co/bhxJ0j0r3p
Some ideas on what flowers to grow to help bees cope with hot weather from the @The_Buzz_Club "Bees & Heatwaves" citizen science project, download report from link below:

When dogs given spot treatments for fleas go swimming, they release levels of pesticides dangerous to aquatic life for at least a month after the treatment https://t.co/w1PjjU5nJ8
34% of species comprehensively assessed on the @IUCNRedList have #agriculture documented as a direct threat.
With better designed and targeted policies, we can benefit both #biodiversity and agriculture.

Local green spaces are irreplaceable for both biodiversity and community wellbeing. We need planning that enhances nature where people live, not just somewhere miles away. #PlanningBill#NatureMatters
Latest word on the #PlanningBill is that developers could pave over local green spaces on the promise of delivering replacements miles away.
The Bill must deliver better protections for nature and neighbourhoods. 👇

How conservation can be made more efficient. Great example of how to conserve crested tits in Scottish pinewoods by understanding their ecology then carrying out simple tests

This might not seem like much but it is the first known red wood ant recorded in the woodland. This was the only one seen in the area and was very small compared to other specimens.
