Big day for @planet as we officially open our new London office! 🇬🇧
As a British founder, it’s great to see our roots deepen here – which go back to one of our earliest ground stations that we set up over 10 years ago! But this moment is really about our incredible local team, now 30+ strong. A huge congrats to Charlie Candy our CRO and UK Managing Director and the entire UK crew.
This new hub puts us at the center of the UK’s space and AI ecosystem. The location positions our team alongside key defense stakeholders and policymakers, while facilitating closer collaboration with commercial partners in the finance and insurance sectors. Feels like yesterday! Looking back at Dove 2, @Planet’s very first satellite launch – back in 2013!! Dove 1 launched 2 days later, so it was an exciting 48 hours!

Our first satellite, Dove 2, launched in 2013 and helped usher in a new era of Earth observation. After 13+ years in orbit, it safely reentered the atmosphere on July 1.

Just returned from Ukraine, where I visited many of our partners. 🇺🇦
One was @TheHALOTrust, whose brave team clears land mines in conflict zones. They use satellite data to plan operations and make them safer & more efficient, e.g. by finding where mines were likely laid. Nothing like seeing this in the field to learn how @planet can help them even more. We also support their work in Syria, Gaza & Sudan.
Huge thanks to the HALO team for hosting the visit and moreover for the vital work done every day. It’s inspiring. 🙏
