My thoughts after 3 months in the US/Texas🇺🇸:

- Americans are way more extroverted than Europeans
- Talking to strangers is normal here
- My first H-E-B trip felt like Boris Yeltsin seeing an American grocery store
- Some food is more artificial, but the amount of choices is insane
- You can still eat healthy. You just have to choose it
- High risk, high reward is real
- Way more people are entrepreneurial
- People dream bigger than in Europe, and they actually execute
- Obv not everyone is smarter, but the smart people are world-class
- Successful people here are way more down-to-earth. In Europe, successful people care about status and can be arrogant
- Cars. Enough said
- Americans have perfected artificial sweets
- There’s still more freedom here than in Europe
- One thing I didn’t expect: some Americans talk down on America
- As an outsider, that’s weird, because imo it’s still the greatest country on Earth🇺🇸🇺🇸

To Muslims who are thinking about living in Japan.

There is something I want to say honestly first.

Life in Japan was not built around your faith.

Ramen may contain pork-bone broth.
Convenience store food may contain pork-derived ingredients.

In summer, there are shrine festivals.
At New Year, many people visit shrines for hatsumode.

When someone dies, cremation is the norm.

At drinking gatherings, there is also a culture of pouring drinks for others.

This is not harassment.

It is simply the everyday life that Japanese people have built over a long period of time.

Of course, your faith should be respected.

But in the same way,
Japanese culture and customs should also be respected.

Before coming here and saying, “I want this changed,”
please think carefully about whether this country truly fits you.

Japan does not exist to reject anyone.

But it also does not exist to be remade
for someone else’s convenience.

When I was Muslim, I compared Muhammad’s last words to Jesus’ last words.

Not just the facts, but the spirit behind them.

And bro, the difference is staggering. It shook my devout Muslim faith.

According to Sahih al-Bukhari, Muhammad’s final words included: “May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians. They made the graves of their prophets into places of worship.”

Those are words associated with his final moments.

No forgiveness. No reconciliation. No peace.

Now compare that to Jesus.

Beaten, betrayed, tortured, hanging on a cross with nails through His wrists, Jesus says:

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

And then: “It is finished.”

One dies speaking curses.

The other dies extending forgiveness.

One ends by drawing lines and reinforcing division.

The other tears the veil and reconciles heaven and earth.

And whether people like it or not, final words reveal something deeply personal about the heart.

That contrast shook me.

Because one man’s final moments reinforced separation, while the other’s changed eternity through mercy, sacrifice, and love.

Please sit with that honestly.

Beware the empathy exploit.

Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow).

For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.

They have high speed rails that put the Acela to shame. And China has lifted millions of its citizens out of poverty, making things like the iPhones in your pocket and mine.
And yet, America remains the innovation hub of the world. Made in China, yes; but designed and invented in the U.S.A. New drugs, new discoveries, new inventions, new space missions. Xi boasts of the country's industrial might, and it's impossible to deny that fact. China's population is in decline, though, well below replacement rates. Unemployment is high with millions in rural provinces living in poverty, and massive housing complexes that now sit empty. Most importantly, and perhaps I'm stating the obvious here, none of these problems are a topic on the Chinese evening news. In fact, pessimism itself is forbidden on the Chinese internet. 5.000 US 🇺🇸 troops will leave my country.

They defended us for 7 decades and they never misused their power (unlike the Soviets). They acted disciplined and friendly. They taught us a lot. The U.S. is like a big brother for Germany.

But the U.S. administration is right: Germany can stand on its own feed nowadays. The U.S. needs its resources to deter China 🇨🇳. And one day, when we Europeans are strong enough we will do so as well.

You are 15 or 16 years old. 200 years ago people your age were married, planted crops, had children, and built a cabin by winter. You can do your homework.
