The 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dr. Jerry Pelletier, an esteemed alumnus of the Sonenberg lab and a pioneering figure in the field of mRNA translational control. He was more than a colleague; he was a cherished friend and mentor to many.
It’s a bit serendipitous that this is out on our first day (of many) on the road from Montréal to San Diego. Thanks to everyone who made my time @mcgillu incredible!
