@BensCuriosity I went to see "The Stranger" (adaptation of the Camus novel) at The Ross today, and it expressed a remarkably similar sentiment except he was in jail and I didn't buy it at all.
The fact that Buzz freezes when Andy is around even though he doesn't know he's a toy isn't a plot hole. It's established that's just how toys work. The fact that Woody can consciously act against universal rule in order to scare Sid is the plot hole.
I don't know if I can think of a more embarrassing scarlet letter than being the only network late night host to not have been driven out by this regime.
@BensCuriosity Maybe I'm the one being myopic, but I don't see capitalism as subsuming the dark side of human nature to ultimately beneficial ends, it just indulges it. What's more indulgently selfish than selling out the future of the species for your own quality of life?
@BensCuriosity I mean, I feel like it's asking a lot to accept the premise that capitalism is or has "worked" when a preponderance of evidence indicates it's currently the largest driving force pushing humanity as a species toward ecological holocaust.
Before I saw the new Superman movie, I heard all this discourse about how it was alienating conservatives by focusing on him being an immigrant. Yet nobody mentioned that the inciting incident of the plot is Superman stopping a stand-in for Israel from doing a war. Hilarious.
I played a bit of Breath of the Wild on Switch 2 and I'm not really sure what the difference is, but holy shit, Cookie Clicker console is almost playable now.
It's BEEN...
One week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side and said I'm angry
Five days since you laughed at me saying get that together come back and see me
Three says since the living room
I realized it's all my fault but couldn't tell you
Yesterday you'd forgive
In the far future, it'll be a fun little trivia fact how before 2025, it was just called The Great Despression before Depression II changed the naming scheme.
Heart Eyes review: I'm a sucker for mixing disparate genres, and 'getting slasher movie'd is the meet cute for your rom-com' is a decent pitch. But it's a two star slasher and a two star rom-com. Playing them against each other still elevates things, but only slightly. 2.5 stars.
