📝 2025 Outlook
Fort Bend Christian begins the 2025 season under first-year head coach Ben Hoffmeier, who inherits a program that went unbeaten in district play last year and has the tools to contend again. Known for his emphasis on physical, smash-mouth football, Hoffmeier takes over a roster that mixes proven upperclassmen with intriguing young talent. District competition will be fierce, but the Eagles’ combination of experienced playmakers and incoming impact transfers gives them a legitimate shot at defending their district crown and making another deep playoff push.
🔥 Things to Like
🔹 Proven leader at quarterback: Senior QB Kole Whiddon @KoleWhiddon returns as a true dual-threat option after accounting for over 1,500 total yards and 20 touchdowns in 2024. His poise, mobility, and play-extension ability keep defenses off balance.
🔹 Game-breaking threat: Sophomore WR/PR/KR Donnie Avery Jr. @DonnieAveryJr1 adds instant electricity to the Eagles’ offense and special teams. His quickness and ability to flip field position make him a player defenses must account for on every snap.
🔹 Two-way difference-maker: Junior Patrick Wadlington @Pwad2026 brings versatility as both a running back and safety, giving FBCA a reliable offensive option who can also patrol the back end of the defense. He’s expected to make a big impact for FBCA this season.
🔹 Impact newcomers: Massive OL Aaron Howe @aaronhowe2026 at 6'9", 340 lbs provides a cornerstone for the offensive front, while freshman WR/DB Tramon Williams Jr. @T2WilliamsJr arrives with elite athleticism and multiple DI offers before his first high school snap. Add in versatile newcomer Brayden Tibbetts @BraydenTibbQB27 and the roster gains immediate depth and upside.
🔹 Defensive disruptors up front: Edge rushers Trace Holster (@Trace_Holster) and Jonah Kalu (@Jonah_Kalu90) headline a defensive line with the size and quickness to pressure quarterbacks and control the run game. Veteran LB Will Kipp (@will_kipp20) anchors the middle with leadership and tackling consistency.
👀 Things to Watch
🔹 Replacing a star’s production: The departure of WR/DB Blake Hamilton leaves a void in both the passing game and secondary. How quickly Avery, Wadlington, and the younger receivers step into bigger roles will be key to maintaining offensive balance.
🔹 Offensive line cohesion: While Howe’s addition is significant, the unit will feature several new starters, and building chemistry quickly will be essential to protect Whiddon and open running lanes. Early non-district matchups could reveal whether this group can gel in time for the district slate.
🔹 Developing young playmakers: Freshmen and sophomores like Williams Jr. and WR Gio Gonzalez @GioGonzalez0 are expected to contribute early. While their upside is undeniable, adapting to the physicality and speed of varsity football will be a key storyline. If they develop quickly, not only will FBCA be tough this year, they will be deadly in the years ahead.
🔹 Consistency in a new system: With Hoffmeier’s arrival comes a fresh playbook and a different practice tempo. How well the team adapts to these change will dictate whether they can defend their district title.

There’s a new sheriff in town for the Eagles, as Coach Jordan Black has moved on and Coach Ben Hoffmeier steps in to lead the program. Hoffmeier takes over a roster that’s seen significant turnover with key players graduating and several transfers in and out, setting the stage for a fresh chapter.
One area with stability is at quarterback, where there won’t be a battle this year, Kole Whiddon has firmly established himself as the starter. Known for his toughness and leadership, Whiddon looks to build on his strong play and bring consistency under center.
This roster also features some familiar names with NFL bloodlines. Tramon Williams Jr., just a freshman, is already turning heads with elite track and field numbers and several Division I offers in hand. Expect him to make an immediate impact. Joining him is Donnie Avery Jr., another legacy player who adds explosive potential.
In the trenches, Chris Martinez has made notable strides over the offseason, and the addition of massive transfer Aaron Howe (6'9", 340 lbs) gives the Eagles a true anchor on the offensive line. Brayden Tibbetts, coming off a standout career at the six-man level, brings versatility and playmaking ability to multiple spots on the field.
At wide receiver, Gio Gonzalez is a young prospect to watch. His development could be a key storyline as the offense takes shape.
Defensively, the Eagles will lean on edge rushers Trace Holster and Jonah Kalu to apply pressure and disrupt opposing backfields. Veterans Will Kipp and Patrick Wadlington also return as proven producers who can help set the tone on that side of the ball.
Special teams will be a strength, with Mario Gonzalez returning as one of the top kickers in the TXPSFB ranks. But Gonzalez offers more than just a strong leg, he’s also expected to contribute on offense, making him a valuable all-around asset.
This season may come with its fair share of challenges, but it also presents a valuable opportunity for Coach Hoffmeier to establish his culture and develop a promising young core. The Eagles might experience growing pains early, but the foundation for future success is clearly being laid.
