I hope individuals on the outside will not take this as truth, and rather do their own digging from people who know what actually happens in that locker room.
the main reasons I made it through a very difficult rehab, along with a heavy dose of “life” that came my way. Division I Athletics is a direct representation of the real world, performance plays a key role in how you progress. It is not meant for everyone…
It’s sad how quickly the word “abusive” is interchanged with “expecting a lot out of someone”. It is also sad that those with no knowledge of this program may see this gross exaggeration and lie as their first impression. The staff of leaders at Charlotte was one of…
Unbelievable what people say for attention. I saw first hand what Charlotte baseball is about from the inside of the locker room and coaches offices. I’d send every child I have to play for those dudes. Give me a break.
Stay away from University of North Carolina Charlotte. I sent formal complaints to their Athletic department as well as to SafeSport. Not sure how coaches in the baseball program still have jobs! As most of you are well aware, I work in the mental space. I see and hear it all. I have athletes across the country. I know good programs, great programs and ones athletes NEED to stay clear of. I don’t understand how physically, emotionally, and mentally abusive coaches seem to land on their feet so often. There is a lack of leadership and accountability in many of these programs. I’m not talking about “tough coaching” either. My words are specific and truths. Development and or winning doesn’t require anyone to be nasty or disrespectful to the athletes. This is their journey and their time, we all had ours. If you can’t be kind, professional and focus on making these young athletes better people and better at their sport, then go home. If you’re so miserable, insecure and unhappy then work on yourself. You have zero business thinking you can lead others.

If we handed out a pitcher of the week award, it’d go to Blake Gillespie.
He threw the second no-hitter in Charlotte history, faced the minimum 27 batters and struck out five of the final six batters he faced 👏
