Ich bin late to the party, aber komme, immerhin verspätet, zu der Einsicht, dass ihr den VAR nicht genügend hasst und er den Sport zerstört. Kroatien dominiert in der zweiten Halbzeit des Sechzehntelfinales gegen Portugal nach Belieben, gerät in der Nachspielzeit (ungerechterweise) in Rückstand, kämpft sich aber erneut zurück und schießt ein Ausgleichstor, dass das gesamte Stadion in Ekstase versetzt. Jeder »eye check« und jede Video-Wiederholung des Ausgleichtreffers von Gvardiol muss dabei zu der Erkenntnis kommen, dass das Tor regulär ist, weil beim Kopfball von Matanovic de facto kein Kontakt zum Ball bestand und danach der Ball nochmal von einem Portugiesen gespielt wurde. Es meldet sich aber ein Videokeller, der in solch einer generischen Situation, der nicht mal eine eindeutige Fehlentscheidung zu Grunde lag, den Schiedsrichter zum Bildschirm ruft, um dann per Signal-Visualisierung einer transienten Welle zum Schluss zu kommen, dass Matanovic den Ball irgendwie mit Haarspitzen gestreift haben muss – und das Tor aberkannt wird. Als der Schiedsrichter seine Roboter-Entscheidung verkündet, ist das Spiel bereits mehrere Minuten unterbrochen, eine große Traube von Fußballern hat sich um ihn gebildet, um nur entweder euphorisch oder maximal enttäuscht darauf zu reagieren, weil jeder weiß, dass hier eine Technologie über Spielausgang entscheidet (und in diesem Fall sogar besonders verheerend, weil die Entscheidung falsch ist). Ich schwöre: Diese Technik und damit einhergehende Reformen machen Fußball kaputt. Ich habe dafür nur Hass übrig. (via @ZDF)

El VAR es un reflejo de la época del verdugueo, esta época nefasta donde todo el tiempo te castigan, todo es punitivista para con el otro, donde los tiktoker, instagrammer e youtubers siempre te dicen "¿Siempre desayunaste sentado? ¡Lo estuviste haciendo mal toda tu vida!"
Donde la gente vota para q el otro le vaya mal, donde te ponen un electrocardiograma o un dibujo de un muñequito para anular un gol por esa pasión triste punitivista, tipo: "¿Estabas contento por el gol? Tomá, ahora te lo anulo y te dejo sin nada"
Y lo loco q es la gente se lo traga de buena gana. Dicen: "Offside" y la tele te muestra un dibujo, repito, un dibujo, ni siquiera la imagen real, y la gente se la traga, feliz.
Todo contacto en el área es penal en cámara lenta del VAR, todo pisoton en cámara lenta es tarjeta roja, es decir, no sirve para nada porq distorsiona, en nombre del punitivismo de época, la real realidad. Pero la época dirá: "Son datos, es ciencia, es tecnología" Y la gente feliz porq todo lo manejan un puñado de viejos Ucha de Silicon Valley haciéndoles creer q las cosas solo tienen un sólo sentido, q es el q las corporaciones le dan.

Some people don't seem to understand why everyone is so outraged about the 🇭🇷 Croatia vs. Portugal 🇵🇹 robbery, so let me explain.

It's precisely because multiple things that would have lifted the offside were ignored, multiple things were handled differently than usual, and several suspicious details are present on top of it all.

So it's both the factually false detection of a touch that wasn't there, AND the way it was handled, which raises even more suspicion:

1. Even if Matanović's head 🤯 touched the ball, it didn't change the trajectory -> no offside

2. Even if Matanović's hair 💇‍♂️ touched the ball, hair is excluded in the offside rulebook -> no offside

3. Even if he did touch it with force, Veiga still went for the ball deliberately -> no offside

4. Offside is normally never checked at the screen by the main ref. Normally the VAR sees Veiga's header on the first replay, says "ah, Portugal touched it, no offside," and that's the end of it.

5. No change of trajectory is visible on the ball. Instead of blindly trusting a questionable chip inside the ball, the ref could have trusted his own eyes -> goal stands

6. Letting a minuscule alleged touch that didn't affect the ball overturn one of the craziest goals in World Cup history is suspicious in and of itself. It hints at an agenda or bias by the refs and VAR.

7. The penalty given to Portugal was already a false decision.

8. FIFA using B-tier referees raises the suspicion that they're chosen deliberately: a ref without a big name is more likely to enforce the rules to the letter, out of fear that FIFA won't invite him (and pay him) at the next tournament. A big refereeing name would at least have the courage to decide by feel for the game.

9. Previous games where Ronaldo was already helped by the refereeing.

10. The observation that rules are applied far more strictly against small nations than against the big names.

11. Semi-automated offside tech was sold to us as eliminating human error. Instead, a sensor blip that nobody can see with their own eyes was used to overrule what everybody COULD see. If the technology can't be verified by the footage, the footage should win.

12.FIFA is visibly willing to trade away trust and raw emotion (nobody can celebrate a goal anymore before the check period is over, fans get fed up and stop watching because of this BS) in exchange for control over outcomes, because keeping the biggest names in the tournament as long as possible is what makes their commercial goals easily reachable.

Yea this is crime against football.

The game you know and love has been lost within probably a week.

A fluid game destroyed by control.

-Red cards for putting a hand over your mouth

-Slowing down video to make tackles look like murders

-Offsides tech so that a fingernail means you're offisides

-Some teams get yellows retroactively for diving, while others don't

-Random tech never used before shows a blip in a graph and disallows a goal.

-Obvious pk's not even looked at and ignored by VAR.

-Forced water breaks for ads.

The game can be manipulated in an infinite amount of ways now.

VAR was established to prevent egregious human errors in things like offsides, possible pks, or red cards for missed things the ref couldn't see. That's it.

It now corrupts and manipulates the game in anyway they want. All restrictions gone. They used to say there wasn't clear evidence to disallow a goal, pk or change a decision. Now a "sensor" in the ball somehow can tell if a hair touches it to disallow a goal?

Yea FIFA is more corrupt than it has ever been, and there needs to be a big change moving forward or you're going to lost A LOT of fans.

Seeing a lot of tweets that show people don’t realize everything Artemis 2 is doing, including calculating slingshot trajectories with no margin for error, was already done in 1968 and repeated multiple times afterward, including in 1970 when they had to recalculate and execute a new trajectory 150,000 miles from Earth with engines that weren’t designed for it because part of the spacecraft had exploded.
