Two big #EMChat updates over the weekend:
1) Calendar updates (Let me know if you can mod)
2) The crowdsourced EMChat reference book is moved to the site under Professional Development
3) Podcast directory is live, also under Professional Development

I've been off Twitter since October, and don't plan to come back, but wanted to share a new way to engage with #EMChat, a new Slack space. https://t.co/pHQmSfB0Ia
Heading into 2023, @KanahomaAgency is hiring for five full-time positions and we could use your help!

The elusive 3 point scale is still the most bonkers thing ever. There was a great session from Iowa at AACRAO SEM about the work they're doing trying to deal with this and grade inflation.
🧵Why can't colleges tell you what GPA they "require?"
A: Because grading scales are all over the map.
In last week have seen scales to 4, 13, 100, & 120. Some now go A-C, skip D & then F.
Recently saw a county make passing a 61, but also have students with averages of 105.
Are you packed and ready for @AACRAO's Strategic Enrollment Management (#SEM2022) Conference next week? Stop by booth 421 to chat with @ladycatie, Dave Bryant, and Drew Miller!
For those keeping track of my 2024 grad secret shopping (n is likely to be at or below 1), I just received my 6th outreach telling me to apply. As a junior. In the fall. Please check your nurture campaigns. #EMChat#hemktg
I cannot say enough good things about the Conference Planning Committee for #AMAHigherEd. It was a fantastic conference and the only negative is that I have to wait a year to do it again.
@dare_@JaimeHuntIMC I'm glad you had the support! I can't do January-April conferences because my wife is an auditor. For all that you lose with virtual events you sure open doors if the costs are affordable.
@DeAwnB I wonder if this carries through more broadly to children of single parents and low-income kids in general. We need a large study of marketers to understand their backgrounds. Is there an invisible lack of diversity as well?
@DeAwnB@JaimeHuntIMC I want to hear them! It starts with undergrad marketing programs being predominantly White, but why is that even? How do we better recruit?
@JaimeHuntIMC I feel like it was similar at CASE. Where are we finding and converting students to professionals? How are we actively recruiting staff rather than passively hiring?
@bcalbertsen @JaimeHuntIMC That is a problem then. What's the pipeline then? There's a pipeline from student workers to admission staff and counselors and there's focus on diversity there. But what's the preparation pipeline for enrollment marketing?
