The plane was hundreds ofmeters away, In the rain, at night with no illuminating lights for visibility. Its gonna be extremely hard to see

Its a serious fuck up from air traffic control. Yes hopefully should of seen it but at an airport you do what you are told BY ATC

@chunkyglobal @AlexDaTrainGal @reldrago @BNONews Probably because when a firetruck crosses a runway there is supposed to be no planes coming. ATC only clear a truck to cross when the runway is clear. Yeh looking would of helped but its not a busy road. At the speed the plane was going, it would pf been hundreds of meters away

They were already on ground with full brakes and reverse thrust by the time the firetruck joined the runway. Not enough time and not enough space for that.ATC told the truck to cross en route to an emergency. ATC at fault

@aakashjhanjhari @BNONews There is a recording of ATC telling the firetruck to cross the runway and then frantically telling him to stop but it was too late. Controllers mainly at fault here

🚨 HORROR FOOTAGE: Video shows Air Canada Flight AC8646 colliding with a Port Authority fire truck at LaGuardia Airport.

Both pilots are dead. Dozens of passengers and two on the truck were injured.

LGA remains closed as NTSB investigates.
