@matcow7 As you are now a HPD SOUTH District Councillor, after previously being a HPD SOUTH Town Councillor, how are you getting on with getting a SOUTH entry to HPD Train Station which you indicated was a priority in 2023?
Is it going to happen?

@will_TLRailwork @PaddyStorrie @bimafolami4PM Hi there, Southern access is also a priority and that’s why at Town I backed HTC’s capital investment which is set aside for that project. Keen to see that make progress too
@Elizabe49367828@matcow7 Lol, I’ll be joining your other friend then and most certainly wont be voting for this guy … going to be hard sell on the doorstep … “hmm, we have no money for schools or pay rises but lots for our important donors, sorry I mean fast track suppliers”
@KayBurley@GrahamSmith_ Awful, awful interview. Presenter totally lost the plot here. Why have someone on if you don’t want to listen to what they have to say?
I certainly would have liked to hear from him like I got to on other channels.
TV journalism is going down the pan.
@DominicG1990 Isn’t this the same ward you lost out in winning by one vote / drawing lots as a Conservative in 2021?
Congratulations though, the change in party has done you good! Not sure @Elizabe49367828 will be that pleased … 😬
@bimafolami4PM If the local Conservatives get thrashed again this May, then I’ve heard they will tweak the law so that the only acceptable ID to allow you to vote next May will be a “Conservative Party Donor Card” …
@matcow7 Morning! I represent a party that has raised your taxes to record levels, wrecked the economy, brought the country to a standstill but yet furnished our donors and friends with lucrative government contracts … please do vote for me to fix your potholes … it’s a hard sell 😬
@13JOHNS@matcow7@Conservatives@LibDems Yeah, I’ve received that one … frankly it’s a bit rich coming from Conservatives.
If I didn’t know better I’d think that was parody or tongue in cheek.
Regrettably it’s not. Terrible campaigning, hope everyone puts it straight in the recycling.
@mikecosgrove@BimAfolami Disagree, not many voters (including Conservatives) want him or his local colleagues in his own constituency. He aligned himself with Johnson then Sunak & rated Truss budget. He follows, he doesn’t lead and comes across terribly on many forms of media that won’t attract votes IMO
@matcow7 What’s at stake is higher personal and business taxes to fund donor handouts and more waste/incompetence where the Conservatives are concerned I’m afraid … the Conservatives are done, they just need to get out of office as soon as possible … literally anything else is better.
@markdpryan@RichardAScott@matcow7@HertsPCC@Conservatives What an awful local campaign video … reminds me of the usual rubbish and misleading statistics trotted out each week in PMQs and media rounds by the Westminster lot as an answer to a completely unrelated question.
Simply designed to try to fool the electorate …
@matcow7 Does the plan involve hiking my personal and business taxes to record levels to pay back all the handouts given by the Conservative Party to friends, colleagues, acquaintances and family members for useless and defective products?
@bimafolami4PM @Clare_desilva@RalphMuncer@HitchHarpCA@HitchinCA@Conservatives Our survey appears to say that the good people of Hitchin “strongly disagree” with Clare on this point.
Such a shame these “global” issues like lying, corruption, incompetence and mismanagement are impacting the local vote so much 🤷♂️
@matcow7@RichardAScott Aha, there you have it!
Indeed the full story and complete facts are always required, like Richard above points out, not just attention grabbing headlines that can be misconstrued. Hence my point #1.
This really sums up the problem with political posts on Social Media …
@HarpoAli @matcow7 I beat you to that point by 36 minutes in another reply to this tweet.
If he’d said “large/heavy bulky item” Matt would’ve got away with that one 😁😂
Local politics is such fun … 🤭
