An important distinction, even for work you might normally be able to work on from home (say by editing a manuscript). You are STILL trying to work work during a crisis.
"You are not working from home; you are at your home during a crisis trying to work."
I've heard this twice today. I think it's an important distinction worth emphasising.
This thread is based on a gaming industry convention, but most of this advise is also good for scholars traveling to the US from abroad for conferences.
I've been reworking some of the lab's 3D printed components. I've got one running over the weekend. Any bets on whether I find something like this on Monday morning?
Adams et al reveal that cardiac conduction is biphasically related to #perinexal separation, & ephaptic coupling is an important determinant of #CardiacConduction. Learn more at https://t.co/cdLaHoNEhP

I had the pleasure of overlapping some with Ubadah during his time at @FralinBiomed. I was impressed by him every day then, and I grow more so everytime I learn more of his story..
This profile tells more of my story than I’ve ever publicly shared and I hope people get to read it. Especially those from the middle east and community college students.

@Caroline_Bartma Every version of A that I've seen has a hole worn into it in the middle. Overy version of B I've ever seen was still quite intact. I think that evidence speaks for itself.
@Gateskp There's a lot of "safety" advise out there that makes really dramatic and often unrealistic assumptions about what is or is not available to people. "Seek shelter" is one of the worst of these.
Oh right. Grad students only get student health support during the school year. Having a physical physical or mental health crisis over the summer costs an extra $104. Because so very many grad students are <checks notes> required to work summers just like normal.
@FromPhDtoLife I enjoyed the most recent movie (there are also two other film adaptations. I think one is a mini-series?). I've never been able to get into the books either.
@FromPhDtoLife Thanks for sharing! Fellow asexual here and I really struggle with how to incorporate that very important piece of my self into my work identity.
Terrible news. Governor Ivey has signed both anti-trans bills in Alabama and they will go into effect. Trans people who have been on blockers since they were 12 years old will be forced through the wrong puberty and not allowed bathroom access. Horrific.

On #internationalasexualityday this is your reminder that I am Ace. Asexuality is a loosely defined as a lack of sexual attraction. This is distinct from aromanticism, which is a lack of romantic attraction. If you want to know more, feel free to ask me.
