I am proud and honoured to be a respected voice on Mindfulness in SWest London, having taught over 6000 people to find their breath so they can thrive.
I rarely get political except when it comes to education, mental health and the next generation. Rather than focus on getting young people to ‘feel confident’ about maths and finance, shouldn’t Rishi put money into helping them simply FEEL CONFIDENT? #MentalHealthAwareness
Amazing 4th session with this term’s NIPA parent group. Looking at parenting styles, the importance of our own experiences and fears soon surfaced. What worries stop you from being a more relaxed parent? #mindfulparent#NIPA
I’m privileged to work with the NIPA programme (Nursery Inclusion Project for All) with Albemarle and Our Lady Queen of Heaven schools, helping families develop mindful parenting and child development skills. Today’s first session for this 4th cohort was just amazing! #nipa
Children as young as 11 are taking their lives. Please sign this Petition: Make suicide prevention a compulsory part of the school curriculum. https://t.co/SM41QVgRw7
@GuardianEdu This is so sad. As a tutor of kids aged 7-16 I see this everyday. So many children with gaps that only some can afford to pay to fill. The poorer children deserve better.
This upset me a little as I’ve taught 4500 kids 90./. Of whom said it helped. Obv a course is just a start. Teachers and parents need to embed it into everyday life. The 1500 Adults I’ve taught say they wish they’d learnt it as a child. Pls don’t stop now schools.
@GuardianEdu As someone who’s taught dotb Mindfulness for 7 yrs, this is upsetting as readers might not focus on the good, just on the fact teens don’t practice unless encouraged. In my opinion and that of the 1500 parents I’ve taught, the courses are a must. Planting seeds.
