anyway yes! i can spend more time playing things with my american friends.
for the first time in like 6-7 months?
goddamn, when was the last time i actually took a break?
after spending more than half the year on the least desired rostered shift, troubleshooting, running things, plugging in gaps, catching stuff that fall between the cracks, i'm finally being rostered out into a different shift.
which has been met with mixed reactions?
then my 2IC/section head: "Will, you are wasted here in healthcare." lmao 💀
(she was grooming me to replace her after retirement, but when i told her i don't want those extra unpaid work, she simply picked me to be our new upcoming statewide information system superuser. 💀)

🎵Seeking peace, tranquillity, rapprochement, or compromise,
Are the acts of the tamed dogs who've thrown their fangs aside!
Give us the madness that despair and pure chaos have brought to life!
Some may say that it's Hell, but for us, it's Paradise!🎵
It really is true.
Having someone to look forward to really gives you that energy and strength.
Then not having them again really makes you feel the difference.
So tired lately.
@GreentextWizard I didn't have the best childhood, but I don't have any childhood traumas because my mum shielded me from the worst of it.
Love my mum.
Take care of your mums guys. Especially as she gets old.
She's the only person who will love you unconditionally.
@SharklettVT At one point you need to reach Zen and enlightenment. And realize the Sisyphean futility of keeping on top of everything.
Then triage, triage, triage.
@offendnoone “The society that separates its scholars from its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting by fools.” - attributed to Thucydides
I check messages after work to find out this has caused a civil war in an otherwise quiet group chat, with "that's sugar daddying" vs "if you got it flaunt it" and "that's predatory" vs "if both side consent what does it matter" and I'm like oh no.
i love my friends but sometimes they frustrate me too.

though... starting to exercise and work out probably IS a better use of my time... or... i can... try both...
🤔
@AoiTsukihime aggravating when a (fellow) public servant display a dereliction of duty, or acts against public interest, while receiving precious taxpayer's money.
i've been to jeju before. lovely place. their 감귤 막걸리 was great.
apparently it's not a great place to visit anymore. shame.
E: (groan) "you can't make dad jokes, Will. You aren't even a dad."
Me: "I mean. I could be. Though nobody came to me for child support yet..."
E: "yup, so you don't get to make any more dad jokes. Not allowed. Banned. Forbidden."
(Apparently I make terrible dad jokes)
Work has been a disaster for a while. As in, when there is a check-in, the situation is "not good " - though what else is new.
So I've been trying to lift up my colleagues spirits with what I do best - banter and take the piss out of them. And they're now joking back!
Me: "Dr Y, last time I started talking to myself like that, my psychiatrist was very concerned."
Dr Y: "hah! I have no psych! No diagnosis, no problem!"
@foreverasyouare that's what i hated about it, yet found it engaging.
the awfulness of people was like a habit. an addiction. you can see the damage it does to others, and the characters.
it's depicted in such a way that it disgusts you. and can feel like a mirror, of what you could be.
bojack horseman - for a show that left a bad taste in my mouth - had no business being so life-changing in such a positive way.
like. how is it possible to not enjoy a show but still find it so engaging and make you finish it all?
really. a lot of good lessons in there.
@reviasaren ...ah. as a mental health professional, i'd imagine it hits... differently.
harder.
more painful.
it truly is excruciating.
like the gif here.
@MiraArcalis we spend more time at work, with our colleagues, than we do with our own friends and family. more the reason to make work a tolerable one.
may your next venture be something you can be proud of where you are valued for what you do.
because you will make it so, right?
@puppygrrlfail most people in life are chaff.
i hope you can find givers to spend time with.
those who wish to spend time with you, as much as you would like to spend time with them.
those who appreciate those little things you do for them, as you appreciate things they do for you.
