6 months ago, I nearly dropped out of uni.
I was ready to give up on Philosophy.
Today, I passed 50 research hours of my diss on 'How to be authentic online.'
Here's 5 lessons I've learned about deriving purpose by creating engaging content:
GM friends, been a short while
Taken the past week or so away to finish up at university
10 days and I’m all yours again
Going to be releasing my dissertation on digital authenticity through my mailing list
So if you’re interested, catch it there
How are you doing?
How absurdly special is life:
I exist in society that put man on the moon but can’t explain my allergy to the literal ground
GM
There’s a lot of grass cutting going on out there
Stay safe
The Ancient Gods didn’t go anywhere
At the altar of Celebrity are their imitations worshipped daily
Their widespread success is symptomatic of a culture lacking sustenance
However, the internet’s transcendent nature permeates beyond culture + offers a route back to source
Integrity is audience building:
It’s most liberating when you retain freedom of expression
Having people listening creates an influence
But if you can’t be honest with them…
It’s never going to amount to a positive one
@Sherwood_Writes @EvenKeeledOne Boy really needs to stop speaking and start doing
Used to always make the mistake of telling people about what I was going to do before doing it
Problem is, that you get credited as if you’re already acting it out
Which can nerf motivation
Just do the thing first
@ZubyMusic Wow, that’s unreal - it’s a shame how in our parents generation due to everyone being integrated into local communities this would be a lot more common
Definitely something we’ve lost to globalisation
I picked to live in this city 4 years ago
I only had 1 other choices of university I could have gone to
We own less control of our outcomes than we think
But just because you didn’t pave the path you’re walking on
Doesn’t mean you can’t decide it’s final destination
GM
Sacrifice desires to the power of ritual
It doesn’t need to be Eleusis
(mine smells of damp books)
But putting yourself in front of the same altar
Whilst the Sun is at the same point in the sky each day
Is how you can begin to ordain yourself as productive
Government overreach really gone Chinese Communist Party on us now
Although, being in the library whilst everyone’s started going off made for a fun disruption
@_Noahwainwright Love the second last line
feeling this too, don’t wanna chat sh•t about personal branding or Twitter growth
So boring, really about carving out the topics that are native to your mind and fleshing them out in a way which people can resonate with
Still very much learning
@ChrisLDyson It’s a millennial thing
Film’s pretty big, if only it wasn’t so damn expensive
Like you say, would love to rock a Nokia 3310 and a film camera but I don’t think either can run Twitter
