❗️❗️🇷🇺The Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia's Samara region has completely suspended all refining operations starting July 12, following a devastating overnight drone strike, Reuters reports.
The attack, which occurred on the night of July 11–12, is being recognized as one of the most destructive blows to Russia’s energy infrastructure in months.
According to Ukrainian General Staff reports and OSINT analysis (including CyberBoroshno and Exilenova+), the strike was carried out by Ukrainian-made FP-1 deep-strike kamikaze drones. The precision attack successfully targeted and damaged the facility's core refining infrastructure, including the AVT-5 and AVT-6 primary crude distillation units, as well as a secondary gasoline catalytic reforming unit. Together, these damaged units account for virtually 100% of the refinery's primary processing capacity.
Located over 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, the Rosneft-owned Syzran plant has an annual capacity of approximately 8.5 million tons. The complete halt of its operations directly chokes off a vital supply of gasoline, diesel, and aviation kerosene heavily relied upon by Russian military forces operating on the southern and central frontlines in Ukraine.
Russian mobile fire group training goes wrong while using a YakB-12.7 rotary machine gun developed for a Mi-24 helicopter mount
This is what happens when an aircraft rotary gun with brutal angular recoil is treated like a regular ground weapon.
They ignored that fact, slapped it onto a ground setup for a mobile fire group, and assumed it would work like a regular stationary machine gun.
