Just did the midterm! Was it hard? Yes, but nothing comes with a challenge these days! Also, with this type of content, I do not mind struggling a bit to have a good learning experience!
Damn. You don’t really understand how important Blooms taxonomy is until you really look at it. It is like....The basis of learning and teaching in a classroom.
This is why I love constructivism so much. It helps students learn from their experiences and how they work in order to learn how to do things in their every day lives
Looking back at the LittleBigPlanet theory in a learning environment, it really helps students because it gives them the sense of creation and creativity, like they have control of their education
Never heard of SixDegrees before this class. Always thought the first ever social media website would be something that stuck around like Facebook or Linkedin.
I never really used blogs myself, but after seeing it in this class, I think it is safe to say that I can be effective in a learning environment. If students were able to blog about their class, then that would help them in the long run
Back to how we can engage students in learning how to use social media in classrooms, I think if we encourage them to connect with the teachers and fellow classmates, I think it will help the children learn more and be more engaged in class
I remember when I started my own Facebook account. I was like 10 years old and I was too young to have it. But it was a good tool to have to be able to connect with distant friends and family so that’s why some social media should be implemented in class.
Now looking at social media in classrooms and thinking what can work and not work, there are so many different platforms. Facebook...Twitter...YouTube...Reddit...even TikTok. Some might work but others might not. Like TikTok. Wouldn’t that be more of a distraction than anything?
After looking at all of the chapters for the Midterm, it is interesting to see the definition of social media again. It feels as if it makes more sense now than it did before.
Privacy is a big thing for social media and their users, so for social media to be usable in a class environment, I think that it is important to focus on privacy!
