Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, in a statement reflecting deepening internal fractures between the TTP’s main body and its JuA faction, accused TTP leader Noor Wali Mehsud of systematically eliminating rival jihadist elements under religious pretexts. The statement not only mourns 18 killed JuA members, including Commander Mumtaz Ummati in Kurram district of KPK, but also signals possible retaliation and calls on its fighters to remain prepared for all contingencies.
The tensions had already surfaced in February 2026, when a senior TTP commander warned that JuA members allegedly involved in misconduct and rogue activity would face no mercy. JuA subsequently rejected the remarks and warned it would defend itself if attacked.

Pakistani Taliban (TTP) faction, Jamaatul Ahrar (JuA) has blamed TTP chief, Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud of killing JuA slain leader, Omar Khalid Khorasani.

A statement written by JuA member Asad Mansoor makes a series of accusation against Noor Wali Mehsud and his enturage, including demoting Omar Mukarram Khorasani and Sarbakaf Mohmand in order to silence their requests of investigating the death of Omar Khalid Khorasani, occured in August 2022 in Nangarhar, Afghanistan.

Asad Mansoor also accuses Noor Wali Mehsud of conspiring against Hakeemullah Mehsud the same way he did with Omar Khalid Khorasani.

JuA statement is in response to today's leter circulated by the Central Shura dismissing the two JuA leaders from their posts.
