With Hurricane Isaias hitting before tonight's Alabama-Georgia game, Alabama's SubAir system will be tested.
Alabama installed the system beneath its football field as part of a multi-million-dollar renovation project.
Fourteen wireless underground sensors monitor conditions like moisture, temperature, and oxygen.
The system then pulls moisture out through a drainage system when the field gets too wet.
The company that installed the system says it can do an hour's worth of drainage in about three minutes.
The system also has built-in temperature controls with an underground heating system, allowing Alabama to heat up the field when it gets cold.
This is the same system used at Augusta National, and it paid off when Alabama received half an inch of rain before its 2023 home opener.
The SubAir system automatically kicked on, and in just 17 minutes, the moisture level dropped from 25% to 16% — the exact level Alabama likes to play all its football games at.
Pretty cool!

GENIUS: Former #Ravens offensive lineman John Urschel retired from the NFL at just 26 years old to pursue mathematics full-time.
Now, years later, Urschel has reportedly helped RESOLVE A LONG-STANDING MATHEMATICAL CONJECTURE involving Gaussian elimination.
Urschel earned a 4.0 GPA, got bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from Penn State, and pursued his Ph.D. at MIT while playing in the NFL.
From blocking NFL defensive linemen to solving problems that have challenged mathematicians for years.
One of the smartest athletes EVER.
@LFLatMSU I can’t believe I just followed you and then you post this bullshit, we are an undeniably a good team and herbstreit is an absolute cuck. Not to mention a quarter of our starters are injured
One in 48 MILLION!!!
The longest odds I saw on the 2026 Bowman checklist was for a Base Chrome RetroFractor Autograph SuperFractor in a value pack.
It’s one in 48,619,575 packs.
So it turns out those old fashioned often religious based morals we had as a load bearing beam for society around men and women and sex might have been there for a reason.
