Why are so many Malaysian Indians emotionally invested in @TVKVijayHQ ?

Because this is bigger than just another election in Tamil Nadu.
Whether people admit it or not, whatever happens in India, especially involving Tamils, eventually becomes part of conversations among Malaysian Indians too.

When embarrassing incidents, social problems or negative stereotypes from India go viral, overseas Indians often end up feeling the impact indirectly as well. Sometimes through jokes, sometimes through perception, sometimes through how society looks at us.

That’s why many of us are paying close attention to Vijay’s political entry.
Not just because he is a superstar.
But because for the first time in a long while, many people are discussing things like discipline, governance, TASMAC culture, youth direction and social responsibility with actual hope even in Malaysia.

Even the conversation around reducing alcohol dependency is being positively received among many Malaysians here.
Because honestly, we have seen how alcoholism affects families and communities here too. Mainly due to accidents

People underestimate how much Tamil Nadu influences Tamils outside India.
Politics, cinema, speeches, culture, behaviour and even mindset travel far beyond the borders of Tamil Nadu.

Malaysia is a different country, yes.
But emotionally and culturally, many Tamils here still observe Tamil Nadu very closely.
So if Vijay and TVK genuinely bring positive social change there, I really believe the ripple effect will be felt among overseas Tamil communities too.

That’s why this moment feels important to many of us.
Not just politically. But culturally.
