Fallout 3 VR Mod Update: It supports the right motion controller now, but it still needs a lot of work. I'll add support for the left controller soon. #Fallout#Fallout3#FalloutVR#VR#Fallout3VR#mod
This surprises me every time it happens.
Yesterday, Valve launched the highly anticipated Steam Frame.
We sold more Beyond 2’s yesterday than any other day this year.
Crazy! You’d think sales would drop, but the opposite keeps happening…We saw this when Apple Vision Pro launched too.
Rising tide floats all boats!
Valve says the Steam Frame was actually supposed to be cheaper, but then the memory crisis happened and completely messed up those plans
Valve engineers confirmed that they had a specific price target in mind when they designed the VR headset, but the rising cost of RAM and other memory components forced them to increase it.
The Steam Frame is now launching at $1,059 for the 256GB model with VR controllers, while the 1TB version costs $1,299.
Valve engineer Jeremy Selan basically summed up how the team feels about it:
“I wish we could have shipped it at the price that we were at last year.”
Valve could have cut the RAM to save some money, but they decided not to. The Steam Frame has 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, compared to 8GB in the Quest 3.
The problem is that this makes the price difference pretty brutal. A Quest 3 is around $600, while the Steam Frame starts at over $1,000.
The memory crisis is hitting hardware makers at a really unfortunate time, and Valve clearly isn’t happy about it either.
French XR startup Lynx was acquired by eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica following its compulsory liquidation, but the fate of its R2 headset remains unclear:

Before someone asks, yes, it's vibe coded. I don't have the time or the talent to make it all on my own. It's still a prototype, so there's still a lot of work to do. Right now, it's keyboard and mouse only, but I'll add support for motion controllers soon!
PlayStation in 2026:
- End Destiny
- End physical gaming forever
- End porting exclusives to PC
- Completely lose Hideo Kojima
- Attempt to cancel Kojima's next Metal Gear franchise
- Kojima cuts ties entirely and goes to XBOX
- Force your single-player studios to make live service games
- Concord happens
- Proceed to cancel most of them, losing years of development time and billions of dollars
- Buy Bluepoint and have them make a live-service rather than remakes
- Close Bluepoint down before they release any games
- Start selling vertical stands separately rather than have them come with the console
- Console prices at an all-time high
Genuinely... what is going on at Sony. disaster after disaster, huge L after L. They were my favorite gaming company throughout the PS4 generation but genuinely, how do you lose EVERYONE this fast? Meanwhile, XBOX is taking full advantage of this and priming a major comeback next generation. A literal generational fumble happening at Sony.

Arcturus Industries, who built the Steam Frame’s camera tracking system, is launching an official Color Passthrough Module
Dual 32 megapixel sensors, 10 bit HDR capture, 64mm IPD
Realtime environment mapping
Spatial Video recording
Gaussian Splatting support with tools
Jeez! First gamepad mode and now the Quest 3 can go up to 207 hz and Virtual Desktop just added 144 fps support for pcvr streaming. Quest 3 updates are cooking! It's almost as if there is another headset dropping soon they are trying to compete with 👀. I hope the Steam Frame really pushes Meta to get things rolling for the Quest platform and hardware.
Your physical game library is more than a collection of discs. It holds years of memories and stories worth preserving. Starting next week, XBOX Insiders can unlock a digital entitlement for supported physical games. We’ll start with thousands of titles and add more as we can.
