This past weekend, the Limerick Civic Trust lost a great friend in Tom Toomey. An excellent historian, and a phenomenal human being, Tom will be missed by many people around Limerick. He was a man of great intelligence, warmth, and charm. (1/x)
Only last month we met up about a project, and his warmth and kindness exuded from him as usual. He was incredibly intelligent, but always humble. Incredibly kind, but always with a dash of mischief. I'll miss Tom, and the role he played to so many of us. May he Rest In Peace
I first worked with Tom in late 2015. I worked with him every year since for a number of different projects. He was an absolute genius, and he could nearly tell you the exact time of birth of each person involved in the Irish Revolutionary period. (1/2)
