Brother, let's state some facts. The MMIA was opened on March 15, 1979, well over 40 years ago. Since then, it has only undergone cosmetic repairs. The runways are over 20 years overdue for replacement. The airport was originally designed to accommodate only 200,000 passengers annually, but in 2024, it handled 6,690,945 passengers. Currently, it contributes over 70% of the total revenue generated by all the airports in the country combined. It has needed a complete overhaul for decades. We should be thanking the President for making this painful but necessary investment. Remember, Kano, Port Harcourt, Abuja, and Enugu all have new terminals currently operating well below capacity. Soon, we will reveal the scale of the work at MMIA and at those other airports. Please be patient. Thank you.
