@natesportsguy They need opportunities to play, Freshmen games, Sophomore games, JV games, 8 games each. That’s where we have a problem in RC. If kids don’t get to play games, it’s hard to keep them out. Coaching is also big, need them to get to the kids that are on the edge.
@natesportsguy More kids on the field of play, offense, defense, which leads to more opportunities for kids of all body sizes. Football is talked about than any other sport.
@natesportsguy Why is it important to take a break? The same sport, or all sports? Does that include weight training, and exercise? At what age? What if their, (not the parents) goal is to be a state champion, or do a sport in college? Age is a huge factor in this equation
@natesportsguy There really is no reason for ranking high school football teams nationally. I suppose it helps a powerhouse high school to recruit players if they were on a list. This is in the crazy coach and parent column.
@natesportsguy Back in my day, back in Omaha, where everything and everyone is tougher and better, and we didn’t even have to tell people to get off our lawns, we didn’t even have lawns, or grass, cause the Huskers played baseball, and wrestling, yada, yada
@natesportsguy I don’t believe anything has changed in regards to parental influence on a good/tough coach. It wouldn’t matter which decade you pick a poor/weak coach gets run over by parents and kids, a good one doesn’t. I will say that entitlement of parents and kids these days is greater
@natesportsguy I’m sure that back in Omaha back in the day, something happened to someone, then at Nebraska, and more nonsense off topic will be told not about this question today
@natesportsguy A tough coach isn’t necessarily a loud (cussing/running/yelling) coach. I would say a tough coach sets a standard for his athletes and they will always have success. The yelling, running, and cussing are theatrics. Yelling is only good if instructing during play.
@natesportsguy If they have big participation they have winning programs, and if they have winning programs they have big participation. So the question doesn’t make sense. And neither have anything to do with the AD
@MatScouts1 It looks like Gomez purposely left his feet and slammed him, and after getting beat on the front side, I like Gomez, but dang, and definitely four in freestyle, not 5
I had starting writing to the kids stepping on the mat this morning and then realized this says it all. So I’m posting it again in hopes those kids and teams listen and take a minute to appreciate the opportunity to wrestle one more day.
Step out there and know.
