It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas🎄! So the Sixth Form held a festive quiz! Congratulations to the winning team and thank you to the Committee for their hard work! Mr Leach, Mr Jubb and Miss Eggleton were a respectable 5th… we think it was respectable anyway! 🏆
It was fantastic having so many current Willink Year 11 students experiencing our Moving Forward Day and getting a taste of Sixth Form and presentations from our current sixth formers. Applications are open!
Iceland 2024 update: we have arrived at the airport for our flight. As it stands (🤞 ) we are on time but will keep everyone posted. Lots of tired students!
Iceland 2024 update: our final day started with a walk up the rainbow street 🌈 to Hallgrimskirkja, which is a huge church! Followed by a trip to @PerlanMuseum which included a northern lights show, an ice cave and a lava show! Very interesting!
Iceland 2024 update: Our meal this evening is at @hamborgari in Reykjavik. Square hamburgers blowing student’s minds! Plus a count of all Icelanders… hopefully a baby is born in Iceland and they will change the number.
Iceland 2024 update: What. A. Day! We have been so busy today, with lava visits, Gullfoss, the secret lagoon, Þingvellir national park, and Geysir! Phenomenal!
Iceland 2024 update: this morning was an early start after an active day and a norther light night. We have visited the @LavaCentre this morning for some fascinating facts about volcanoes and earthquakes. So interesting and interactive!
Iceland 2024 update: our glacier walk yesterday was amazing! The students enjoyed eating the ice (YOLO) and drinking the purest of water straight from the source.
Iceland 2024 update: our final activity was a visit to the lava field of the 2021, 2022, and 2023 (as well as driving through the site of the 2024 eruption in Grindavik). Amazing geography on display!
Iceland 2024 update: Day 2 started with a visit to the geothermal power plant, which was really interesting! Then a trip to the Hveradalir hot springs! Nice and warm….. sort of!
