"We really appreciate him beyond what he does at the grass at the Linc":
Philadelphia Eagles fans are showing nothing but love to quarterback Jalen Hurts in the aftermath of his blood clots diagnosis. https://t.co/Ki3WYPpHVK
Donovan McNabb defended Jalen Hurts on WIP after Spike Eskin said we should expect more from him given the money he makes.
McNabb brought up the revolving door of offensive coordinators Hurts has had in Philadelphia.
Love seeing our former franchise quarterback stick up for a current one. ✊🏽
Jason Kelce re: Jalen Hurts
"The doctors that I know that work with the Eagles treated me phenomenally in my time in Philadelphia."
Black patients face documented healthcare disparities. Dismissing their experiences because yours was different only perpetuates the problem.
Marvin Lewis on the Eagles and Jalen Hurts:
“My biggest concern was the fact that he was put on the plane to fly home.”
When Marvin thought he had a blood clot in Cincinnati, Mike Brown pulled him aside: “Hey, you aren’t just my coach. You’re my friend.”
“He wanted the player to live his life afterwards. He didn’t give a shit about next week. I did. I wanted him to play tomorrow. But he wanted the guy to have a productive life afterwards... But still, that was the right thing.”

Listen, Tanner is cool. He’s play solid a few times but let’s be honest, he’s not the future at QB for the Eagles. He’s a career backup. He’s not even Foles. Foles was drafted to take over for Vick so the Eagles always knew the potential. They drafted Tanner in the 6th round and he’s not Brady. I think we should give Milton an honest look. Tanner’s contract is up after this season so we’ll need another backup anyway.
More from @criscarter80 on the Eagles and Jalen Hurts:
“Have we come a long way? Yes. So have the French fries at McDonald’s. That’s just modern technology. This should never occur in the National Football League."
“We’re talking about one of the most profitable businesses in the world. And guess what? There’s only 31,000 of us that ever did this. There’s only 14,000 of us that ever done this for more than four years. Like the type of care that should go into who we are and what we’ve done as players, coaches, and administrators, this is not a normal business.”
“I ain’t giving you no roses. I don’t give people credit for doing the basics for their fucking job. I give people credit when they go beyond what they’re supposed to do, and this is a human business.”
"AJ Brown said a lot of stuff, but because he's a WR y'all didn't listen. A lot of that stuff is coming to pass. The QB only got $22 million guaranteed money. Like, you think he ain't under a lot of pressure? I mean, every year he's been there, they give him a new coach, a new coordinator. Like, they have not enhanced his career. Like, there's a lot of stuff going on in Philadelphia. And yes, have they had one of the best rosters in the NFL the last five years? Yes, but that's over with.

.@criscarter80 on the Eagles and Jalen Hurts:
“To think an NFL team would put a guy out there with blood clots and put him in harm’s way? Hell yeah. Absolutely. And does it mess with the whole locker room? Absolutely.”
"Every dude on that 53-man roster, except those kickers, we ain’t wired right. We got a little screw loose. We will go to extremes for our teammates and for this game of football. We are not hockey players, we are not baseball players, and we are damn sure enough not the NBA.”
“Every year, a Hall of Famer passes away. Every year, a player you played with passes away short of what his real lifespan should be.”
“It’s amazing how all these injuries and all these recoveries... this guy shattered his knee, he’s going to be ready the first week of September. Bullshit.”
“That’s why I teach guys, get your affairs in order. Make sure you have your money right so you can make real decisions, because they are going to make decisions based on labor.”
“You are a laborer. And if they’re paying you a lot of money every day, they are trying to cut that cost. And when they get a chance, if you give it to them, they’re going to cut that cost.”

The Jalen Hurts situation is far too serious for the unanswered questions to just go away.
I don’t believe there was malicious intent, but the details need to be unpacked.
I’m curious to see who ultimately gets the real answers.
