The last time the US had Robber Barons — men who hoarded wealth while workers struggled to survive — was the Gilded Age of the late 1800s. Workers had organized into unions, and the threat of collective power was enough to force action. The rich gave back — not out of decency, but because workers demanded it. Today's Robber Barons like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos buy the narrative, platforms, newspapers, & politicians. They don't fear us — yet. We’re still fighting back because history shows us what works: organized, relentless, loud collective action. It worked in the 1880s. It's the only thing that's ever worked for working people.
The flock cameras currently being installed in America are every bit as dangerous as the AI data centers. Americans need to stand up for their 4th amendment rights and stop them.
east coast elite crime is very straightforward - usually some combination of money, tax evasion, and sex.
west coast crime is batshit insane - cults, fringe ideologies, weird rituals, etc.
They always learn the wrong lessons. Like when Barbie made over a million dollars instead of hiring more female writer/directors, they were like “let’s make a SLINKY movie!”
the only LA transplant behavior I find really annoying is a) asking where the black people are while never going south of the 10 freeway and b) the ones who act like they won't need a car bc they live in one of 3 semi-walkable neighborhoods (it's possible but what a pain)
Not really that strange. The people spending against this are Google, Peter Thiel and other PayPal Mafia, Stripe, Silicon Valley VC. This is what California YIMBY has always been, and Gavin Newsom has hitched his wagon to this.
Ro Khanna is a coin toss, always.
We should not widen anymore roads in Los Angeles actually but we should widen the sidewalks and make more walkable communities within existing neighborhoods. Car culture is actually the worst part of LA. Too much asphalt echoing nonstop noise & other pollution, mirroring heat.
In case there are any SF6 players that wanted to see a tiny glimpse of what Tifa can do, here she is delivering a deathblow to a dragon with a front flip Axe kick 😌
Happy Tifa Tuesday !
