I just saw the public discussion about Vance, not baptizing his children as infants.
To my Catholic Brothers and sisters, you should schedule a baptism as soon as possible for your kids.
One reason among many is the spiritual protection of your child. When we trace the cross on their head and claim the child for Christ, every demon, every angel can see that mark.
It matters.
For my brother priests, I beg you
in the name of Jesus, stop prohibiting baptism until parents jump through hoops.
I buried an infant this week whose pastor refused baptism for them. Enough with trying to control and protect yourself from feeling used.
Enough with the nonsense of โprotecting the sacramentโ.
Jesus doesnโt need you to protect him, but he does need you to protect the souls of these little ones.
If parents come to you seeking baptism for their child, you do it.

June 17: Feast of the Most Chaste Heart of Joseph
St. Teresa of Avila wasn't making an empty promise when she said, "Go to Joseph; I have never known anyone who turned to him and was not helped." She spent years encouraging people to trust St. Joseph because she had seen his fatherly care firsthand.
Joseph doesn't replace Jesus. He always leads us to Him. The man chosen by God to protect Mary and raise the Son of God is still a powerful intercessor for the Church today. Scripture doesn't record a single word spoken by St. Joseph, yet his actions preached faith, obedience, humility, and courage. When God asked him to do something difficult, he said yes.
Many of us carry burdens we don't know how to fix: financial stress, family struggles, fear about the future, loneliness, or loved ones who have drifted from God. St. Joseph reminds us that holiness is often lived quietly through faithfulness in ordinary life. You don't have to have all the answers. You simply have to trust God one step at a time.

In Matthew 5: 43-48, Jesus reveals the heart of a Christian.
He tells us how Christians love, how Christians act and how Christians pray.
Every time I read this, I see how far I am from the kingdom of heaven while simultaneously, I take great hope because he has shown me what to be and given me the strength to be it.
I need Jesus to change and heal my mind and heart to be more like his.
I need to reject all of those who will encourage me to change Jesus heart to be like mine.
