@AndrewPRLevi Your point about precedence is very nuanced, but looked at another way, Reeves can't do right for doing wrong! In these very specific (if not unique) circumstances, 200 years of history can be overlooked. Precedence is not a formal rule. It is a guide, and a legitimate choice.

@BBCSheffield Doncaster is more complicated than most. A Labour Mayor, with most Executive authority, and a Reform dominated Council. The key test will come when the Mayor proposes her next budget, which I understand requires two-thirds of the Council to support it.
