As some of you know, I was a Semi-Finalist on @AmericanIdol Season 5 when I was 16 years old. On this podcast with @annehudson, we discuss the pros and cons of 15 minutes of fame, how to handle it, and our love for @mrBobbyBones 🥰😝. Enjoy! @iHeartRadio https://t.co/rxnKIGmAf7
@kaceytron@gov_fails I think you're missing the point. 43% of Gen Z list eating out and food delivery as their top discretionary expense, and the top ~28% of them order so frequently that they spend over $1,000 a year just on delivery fees and tips alone. If you take out 17-22 year olds, it doubles.
@Nowayimalurker4 @8dollarspaynow@Ron4California@DanCrenshawTX Intent matters! Red flag laws aren’t evil when you want to lower gun deaths and keep good people with gun ownership.
@Torri_H @KMAWE_1951 @Ddaniels715@davinator_t@tedcruz They will, but at least it will be left to democracy. You have to overturn roe just to have reasonable regulation on abortion. That’s the problem with the ruling in the first place and why even the most liberal justices, like Ginsburg, criticized it.
@donwinslow Cali and Canada have similar populations. In Cali more people are murdered with Knives than all the murders combined in Canada per year. Now… that’s a cultural difference, not a gun control difference.
@Torri_H @Jakaleena1 @Jared_INW@MLCintheHills@SCOTUSblog It depends on the state. All states require additional background checks. Most states require training. The SC is not ruling on this, they are ruling on if states can outlaw conceal carry no matter your training if you don't present a "good cause", an arbitrary definition.
@picturesintheai@jjschneider1062@deanjnorris Not really. The argument against Roe is sound. Agree or disagree, the right to an abortion isn't in the constitution. For all of US history, until 1973, the legality of it was placed on legislators. The 2nd amendment, however, has a lot of court history proving the Heller opinion
@picturesintheai@jjschneider1062@deanjnorris Most politics is just opinion based, and will not review facts to come to conclusions. Where, the court will use facts to come to conclusions.
@picturesintheai@jjschneider1062@deanjnorris Yes, but it's not political in the way we look at most politics. They are reviewing the laws, the text, the opinions of those passing the laws, and historical norms of the time. It's more an intellectual legal group finding the right way to interpret the facts.
@picturesintheai@jjschneider1062@deanjnorris The Heller Decision is ALL about the history of the right of the people. Hamilton was a brilliant man, and gave us important information, but so did the laws of the time and the debates that occurred. It ALL must be reviewed, and the court did that for us.
@picturesintheai@jjschneider1062@deanjnorris Right but the court reviewed what the framers meant and came to the conclusion that the PEOPLE are the ones holding the right to bear arms.
