Tune in to the conversation I had with @willjohncock on the @ViaStoica Podcast.
We discussed his book, Beyond the Individual and how Stoicism relates to a lot more than just the self.

This is a great book and I highly recommend Beyond the Individual by @willjohncock.
It takes a different look at Stoicism. Instead of self-help, it looks at the interconnectedness of Nature and the part we play.

Book review: Beyond the Individual by @willjohncock.
This book brings an important part of Stoicism to the reader's attention.
Stoic philosophy is about the interconnectedness of the rational universe. Only by understanding this unity can we begin to work on the self in a virtuous way.
There is no separation between the self and the world around us; it is all one, acting on different levels, but always coming back to the core, the logos.
In Beyond the Individual, Will Johncock does an excellent job of finding that balance. Examining all aspects we experience as the self and mirroring it to Nature.
This is a must-read book for anyone who is on their Stoic journey. It is especially important for those who are only focused inward, to widen their view to the world around them.
