Under Secretary Mike Naig’s leadership, Iowa has seen a record-breaking demand for cover crop cost-share.
This investment will take that even further.
By working with farmers and landowners, we’re leading the nation in the adoption of conservation practices.
@ElliottHenders7@DamianPMason Now we are back to where the Boomers began. A crisis of sorts. Our industry is in dire straights our communities are falling apart. The most impactful thing we can do for our farms/industry/communities is get involved in Ag policy. @ZachLahn
@ElliottHenders7@DamianPMason The answer will always be “I should’ve never stopped buying ground.” Not one time will they say “I wish I would’ve took time off from farming to do more Ag policy advocating.”
@ElliottHenders7@DamianPMason It worked well for Gen X. Came into farming at the tail end of the Farm Crisis. No/little debt. Cheap land. Farms listed for sale in the paper for months. Boomers changed Ag policy and the money started flowing back to Ag. Ask any Gen X farmer. What is your biggest regret?
@ElliottHenders7@DamianPMason The most “successful” farmers I know. They are Gen X. Including my own father. A 1965 model. Their parents handed the farm controls over to them and moved to town. They never pissed with policy. The Boomers weren’t interested in sharing that power.
Tender man for the sprayer today. I always enjoy neighbors stopping by to chat about the crops and ag policy. Sure makes all the ideal time go by faster and I love talking about the challenges we face. But more importantly the solutions we propose.
@ZachLahn I’m ready to work with @ZachLahn and talk about solutions. Solutions where we break up the Big Ag oligarchs. Solutions that make our State healthier while not adding further financial burdens on our farmers. The first step is improving CRP and cover crop programs.
@ZachLahn It’s time to form a coalition between farmers and MAHA. I got called a hippie today. After I told another farmer. I intend to plant 2,000 ac of rye ahead of all my soybeans next year. People don’t see that the narrative is shifting.
@ZachLahn If I told certain MAHA people I use chemicals to control weeds and kill the rye I planted. They would could call me a cancer spreader.. I have full faith @ZachLahn can lead Iowa into new era. Where we blend the mission of MAHA with our farmers.
@ZachLahn@ltthompso@adamsteen ✊🏻 Iowa First starts with a united party first. Mission accomplished. Now let’s get to work and bring the rest of Iowa into the Lahn coalition!
@USTechWorkers As Governor, state contracts will not go to H1B outsourcing firms.
To go further, a major criteria for competitiveness for any state contact will be what percentage of the workforce is made up of Iowans.
Want to be competitive? Hire more Iowans.
@ltthompso@ZachLahn I’m a Western Iowa farmer 15 mi from his LG pick. My wife says I look good in underwear. I’d like to throw my name into consideration for @ZachLahn’s LG pick 🤠#LahnKlocke
When @RobSandIA says “ Not redder or bluer, but better and truer”
What he means is: He represents the uniparty.
Big Ag, the corporatist, and the RINOs that have controlled Iowa. Will back and fund Uniparty Rob Sand.
Stand with me and back @ZachLahn for GOV. #LFG#IOWAFIRST
@RobSandIA says “Not redder not bluer, but better and truer”
Translation: He is the uniparty.
The GOP RINO’s will/have donated to him. Including Big Ag.
