I thought the best part of Trump Accounts was the $1,000 for newborns. It wasn’t.
I started out asking one simple question in an X post yesterday.
“Does it even make sense to open one for my 12-year-old?”
Now I’ve actually opened one for Pearl.
Because I finally realized this isn’t really about opening another account.
It’s about giving a child years to learn how money grows.
As I read through hundreds of comments, people kept pointing me toward the Invest America Act,
the S&P 500 index fund,
the SpaceX stock donation from Gwynne Shotwell,
Michael Dell’s pledge,
the QR code that lets family and friends contribute,
the possibility of a future Roth IRA conversion,
and even the conversations around Bitcoin and financial education.
Then it hit me.
Nobody ever taught me how to invest when I was Pearl’s age.
When I was growing up, investing meant reading the newspaper and calling a broker.
Today a 12-year-old can learn about an S&P 500 index fund, Bitcoin, compound growth, and long-term investing from a phone.
That feels like a much bigger opportunity than just opening another account.
If successful people want to help ordinary kids build a future by contributing money to their accounts,
I’m not going to tell them no. 😅
My goal isn’t to raise a millionaire.
My goal is much simpler.
I don’t want Pearl sitting where I am at 50, wondering if she started too late.
🚨 JUST IN: Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he is CHANGING the vaccine injury reporting system to ensure victims are not ignored or denied. I VOTED FOR THIS.
New intern, every Friday 5:30pm. Team: “Drinks?”
Her: “No thanks. Gotta go.”
Every. Friday.
For 4 months.
We called her “boring.” “Not a team player.”
My lead said, “She’ll never get promoted.”
Week 17. Project shipped. 6pm.
We forced it. “One drink. That’s it.”
She came. Sat 10 minutes.
Phone buzzed. 6:07pm.
She stood up mid-sentence. “Sorry. I have to go.”
I followed her out. Curious.
Bus stop. She got on.
I got on too.
4 stops later. She got off at a school.
Picked up a kid. Maybe 6. Backpack bigger than him.
“Hey Aunty,” he said.
She looked at me. “My sister died last year.”
“His dad’s gone. Child services said he needs a guardian.”
“I leave at 5:30 because pickup is 6:00.”
“If I’m late 3 times, they take him.”
“I say no to drinks because I can’t say no to him.”
Now our team does drinks at 4:30pm. Once a month.
And she always comes.
Moral: The person skipping “fun” might be holding a family together.
A preacher once held up a Bible and asked, “If this disappeared tomorrow, how much of it would still be written on your heart?”
The room fell silent.
Owning a Bible is easy. Opening it takes intention. Living it takes faith.
God never asked us to be perfect. He asked us to trust Him, follow Him, and love others as He first loved us.
When life gets heavy, don’t run from God. Run to Him. His promises have outlasted every kingdom, every storm, and every generation.
The strongest person in the room isn’t always the loudest. It’s the one who still chooses faith when life gives every reason to quit.
Read His Word. Live His Word. Let your life preach louder than your voice.
The happiest people I know have one thing in common. They have an unwavering faith, trust and belief in God, the Father.
If God brought you to it, He’s going to see you through it.
As a former Muslim, here's a thought that completely wrecked me:
If Jesus walked into many mosques today and said exactly what He says in the Gospels, most
Muslims wouldn't call Him "just a prophet."
They would reject His claims outright. Think about it.
"I and the Father are one." (John 10:30)
"No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
"Before Abraham was, I AM." (John 8:58) After the resurrection, He receives worship instead of correcting it.
Those are not the claims of an ordinary prophet. And that's what forced me to wrestle with the real issue.
For years I tried to fit Jesus into the Islamic category of "great prophet."
I told myself the Bible must be corrupted. I told myself Christians misunderstood Him.
I told myself He never really claimed what Christians say He claimed.
Then I actually read the Gospels.
And I realized Jesus doesn't speak like any prophet before Him.
He doesn't merely point to the way. He presents Himself as the way.
The question that changed my life wasn't, "What do Muslims say about Jesus?"
It was: "What did Jesus say about Himself?"
Because if He really said those things, then every person has to make a choice.
Either He was wrong. Or He was exactly who He claimed to be.
And that's a question none of us can avoid forever.
I’ve always given my children pineapple to eat, not just because it tastes like a summer vacation in the middle of winter.
For years, pineapple has been valued as a natural way to support the body. It contains bromelain, an enzyme that is said to aid digestion and help the body maintain balance. Grandmothers used to say, “Where nature provides powerful fruits, worms don’t have an easy time.”
Of course, children’s health depends first and foremost on a balanced diet, good hygiene, and paying attention to how their bodies are doing. But I’ve always believed it’s worth trusting plants, nature, and simple solutions. Fresh pineapple, aloe vera, herbs, wholesome food, and a peaceful home can often do more than half a pharmacy.
In our house, pineapple disappears faster than candy, and cartons of peach-flavored aloe vera drink are empty in no time.
And maybe that’s why the kids so rarely complain about stomach aches.
🚨 JUST IN: Incredible moment as this 103-year-old World War II veteran who served in Germany gets FIRED UP about the tens of thousands of Americans celebrating the 250th
"We GOT IT! Today, I am just so happy, ALL THE PEOPLE, the land to be free! To be here and to LOVE AMERICA, I love that!"
🔥🇺🇸
Living legend!
🚨 PATRIOT! On this Fourth of July, let’s remember what real American patriotism looks like.
Baseball legend Rick Monday didn’t hesitate, two protesters stormed the field at Dodger Stadium trying to burn the American flag, and he sprinted in like a boss and SNATCHED it right out of their hands.
No apologies. No weakness. Just pure love for the greatest flag on earth.
That’s the spirit we celebrate today, defending Old Glory with everything we’ve got.
God bless Rick Monday and God bless the USA! 🇺🇸
🚨 NOW: President Trump is making clear that the USA-hating communists WILL NEVER WIN
"We need to stop, look around and realize what we have — this is the greatest country on Earth! I love it, and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else."
"We are the toughest most resilient people on Earth! Nothing can stop us when we unite! Happy Birthday America."
"USA! USA!" 🇺🇸
