On behalf of the Run Free team, I want to express my heartfelt sadness and deepest condolences to Emily Morgan and the team at the Unstuck Group after hearing of Tony’s passing.

Tony Morgan and I connected regularly over the years and I am grateful for his consistent readiness and graciousness to collaborate on behalf of the broader church. He was ahead of his time as a blogger and podcaster, always boiling down and redistributing all things “strategic” for the church.

There are very few strategic outsiders of our generation who served as many churches as Tony. He knew his lane and ran it with integrity and excellence. Beneath his calm demeanor was a tireless passion for the mission of Jesus.

I will miss the opportunity to continue to learn from my fellow facilitator, church consultant, author and content creator.

Yet his ultimate contribution to the church will live on through one of the richest and genuinely curated resource libraries of a generation. Beyond his physical presence his legacy will continue to help growth-minded pastors to stay unstuck.

Rest well in our Father’s presence my friend and thank you for your giant contribution to the Church.

People have been misquoting the original Drucker for far two long. I get the point Carey but let’s have a podcast episode to be more thoughtful on this quote. Do church leaders know what “amazing” mission, vision and strategy look like? If you want your culture to get healthier, what do you call that? Vision? This quote dooms us all to whatever culture we have.
