Happy to see @Squeezestudy published. Was a real labour of love getting this up and running at @uhbtrust Heartlands hospital during my academic foundation years. Vasoplegia quite common (4%) after non cardiac surgery and associated with worse outcomes.

Basking too long in a sauna may put bathers at risk of heat stroke, particularly if they haven’t drunk enough water beforehand, warn doctors in @BMJCaseReports after treating a woman whose condition required admission to hospital. Link: https://t.co/bl3IPkxZFK
Great to see multiple news outlets covering our just-published case report, although for the record I’m quite partial to sauna’s myself. Dive in to the discussion for a review of the management of classical heat stroke in the emergency department!

@JonnyGucks And PA’s to do all the admin so that doctors can go back to thinking & teaching on ward rounds. I mean this only partly tongue in cheek.
@JonnyGucks A challenge. Sim can be delivered during hospital placements with scenarios standardised centrally. Flipped classroom could help maximise efficiency of preclinical studies. Much more emphasis on first principals/EBM rather than learning guidelines by rote during clinical years.
