@guardian_sport@maxrushden I love the fact that Turkey have such an immense following in Germany, but am I the only one who finds the permanent whistling to be on par with the South African Vuvuzelas?
#bbcfootball say what you like about the larger format tournament, there's been no dud teams, and all - barring England - games have been a delight to watch! Chances and excitement in every match
TAA looks a bit overwhelmed in midfield. Barely had a touch in 15 minutes, struggling to show for the ball and out of the game. attempts at long passes failed too. #bbcfootball
@maxrushden@guardian_sport@bglendenning@lucyjward_@PaulMac Off the back of your how to play city conversation - I haven't watched much of Brighton this year but vs City they were something else. They have this basketball-style pick & roll that seems unplayable against. City were getting a taste of what it's like to play against them!
@maxrushden@bglendenning@guardian_sport Is there a sadder sight than watching the once mighty Azpilicueta getting spun in circles against Manchester City's 6th choice winger Cole Palmer? It's like watching a kitten chase a laser. Lots of effort but chasing shadows forever.
@maxrushden@guardian_sport@barneyronay@jonawils@bglendenning Did you think Potter would have come good given a pre-season? I was super excited about this rebuild and happy to deal with a bad season. I understand the impact of being 11th but an investment is long term and it was so refreshing seeing such a "non-football" person manager.
@maxrushden#footballweekly It is just so frustrating being a Chelsea fan right now playing weak, tepid football. Don't get me wrong, we've had our fair share of glory and I believe in the long term project. The main question is, how sad am I allowed to be with things right now?
@maxrushden@bglendenning Mbappe is clearly incredible but not a good set piece taker, however for some reason he takes every single one! Is it like the kid at school who brings the football and therefore gets to have all the fun?
@maxrushden@guardian_sport @PhilippeAuclair @bglendenning@_JordanJBryan@WeAreTheFSA RE the previous pod: I would suggest you watch moneyball or read the story of Billy Beane. He's now a minority of Barnsley and I would think his influence there has certainly made an impact. The substitutions chat definitely makes sense now! He's a bit of a genius
@maxrushden All the owners have to turn and face the wall, owners of the 14PL clubs get to smash a football at their arse as hard as possible. That was how we resolved everything at school
