tapi bener, orang2 yg tangki cintanya udah dipenuhin sama orang tua, jarang yg nyari cinta sampe gila2an di luar sana.

mereka lebih respect ke diri sendiri, tau batasan, ga asal milih pasangan karena standar mereka tinggi, apalagi kalo deket sama ayahnya.

The ending left me emotional. I honestly felt especially sorry for Park, because he loved Eleanor so sincerely and even his family slowly learned to accept her. But at the same time, I understood Eleanor too.

I also appreciated that the novel did not romanticise abuse. Eleanor’s home life felt tense, fragile, and painfully realistic. It explained why even happiness felt unsafe for her.

Meanwhile, Eleanor made me heartbroken the entire time. You could clearly see how trauma and fear shaped the way she viewed love. For Park, love came naturally. For Eleanor, love felt terrifying because she was so used to losing everything she cared about.

The 1980s atmosphere, the mixtapes, comics, school bus rides, and awkward silences made the romance feel incredibly intimate and genuine. Park’s love felt soft and simple — he just wanted Eleanor to smile.

Reading Eleanor & Park felt like quietly sitting beside two lonely teenagers who slowly became each other’s safe place.

What I loved most about this book was not the plot, but the feelings.
