@airmainengineer Flight Australia to Abu Dhabi. Wee small hours, sleeping (seat belt on). Suddenly plane steep dived & everyone woke up screaming. I'd dated a pilot, & hoped we were just dodging a storm. I tried to reassure seatmates but nobody breathed easy till level flight. CC brought alcohol.

@airmainengineer Okay, so it is a bit pretentious- and I wonder why the guy would think the crew needed to know? But your Captain and FO started their careers with a PPL. I agree they'd not be a lot of help on a flight deck, but if everything DID go south, they could radio and do other jobs.
