What did I spend my £64.60 Carers Allowance on this week? I spent £76 on my train travel to a London hospital to discuss the complex eye surgery I need. It didn't even cover it. Is it any wonder carers neglect their own health and wellbeing #ValueCarers

@AlisonEBennett@LizBarkerLords Katy, who cares for a two people living with dementia, joined us to say; ‘People with dementia deserve an accurate and timely diagnosis.’
Today inflation rose again, driven by fuel prices and rents continuing to squeeze household budgets.
The budget is a chance for Andy Burnham to put words into action and truly tackle the cost of living.

The petition to require a Young Carer's Champion in every school will be handed in tomorrow so we need all the signatures we can get today.
Having this kind of support in all our schools can make a huge difference in helping young carers to balance learning and caring.
Only 4,500 schools have a lead for young carers.
We want to see EVERY school have one, which is why we're backing @VikkiSlade72 MP's call for a Young Carer's Champion in every school.

Research by the University of Birmingham found that 41% of parent carers had thought about suicide.
We’ve signed this open letter because we believe parent carers and siblings desperately need more support now. Not more delays.
Disabled children and their families deserve a social care system built on support and trust – not struggle, shame and suspicion.
The recommendations for change are on the table. Now the Government needs to act.

PIP payments have failed to keep up with the increasing costs of disability and the system has a culture of disbelief at its core, says Fazilet Hadi @DisRightsUK.
The government’s review seems unlikely to change this

In his first appearance in Parliament as Prime Minister it was pleasing to hear @andyburnham reply to @YasminQureshiMP's question about unpaid carers
He said "social care will be a huge priority" and that he "will not leave this role until we have brought forward a social care system that we can be proud of".
We look forward to working with the PM and his Government to make sure unpaid carers' needs are at the heart of social care reform.
Listen to the PM:
I don’t think anyone enjoyed Keir Starmer — the empty, wooden, politically inept liar — bully Jeremy Corbyn.
Hearing Burnham speak to Jeremy with kindness and respect actually warmed my heart a little
And makes me detest Keir Starmer even more. Vile man
If anyone can help it would be most appeciated as amber really cant manage with out her wheelchair it needs quite a few things fixing so she can safely use it
