I was a freshman medical student in my 3rd day of hematology. I fell asleep in the late morning, and when I woke up, all hell had broken loose. I could barely focus on that day's lessons. Our Capitol was under siege. Leaders' lives in danger. We can never forget. #January6th
I remember sitting in my home, watching in disbelief as rioters stormed our capitol last year on this day. I watched as they pulled on the doors, smashed the windows, ran through the halls. I couldn’t believe my eyes what was transpiring on live TV. #January6th
EXCLUSIVE: Walter Reed scientists expect to announce that they have developed a vaccine that protects people from COVID-19 and all its variants, even Omicron | @TaraCopp https://t.co/Ip8P8pElFo
Sara Low was born and raised in Batesville, AR. She died on #September11 2001 at the age of 28. She was a flight attendant on American Airlines Flt 11, the first plane to crash into the #WorldTradeCenter. Remember Sara’s smile and #NeverForget those we lost that day. #ARNews
@drcampatterson@uamshealth UAMS COM ‘24 here. Thank you, @drcampatterson, for your service to the people of arkansas and your patience with people who deny the reality right before their eyes and falsely claim doctors have nefarious motives or are puppets. I’m losing my patience with those people.
Fellow Christians, this isn’t how it works. I’d call it heresy, except it’s too stupid to be heresy
To my non-Christian friends, this isn’t Christianity. Not even close.
This is really simple folks: with rare exception (ie: your physician tells you otherwise), get vaccinated.
If, by the time I'm a doctor, COVID continues to be a public health threat in AR and Arkansans keep acting this way, I will NOT practice here. Very seriously considering the Northeast or other parts of the US where people believe in science not conspiracy theories. Hate it here.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) and state vaccine official Dr. Jennifer Dillaha berated by crowd with boos, groans and shouts for saying there is no medical evidence at this time that the COVID vaccines impact fertility.
>900 people currently hospitalized in Arkansas because of COVID-19 complications today. We have 60 @uamshealth, up from 50 last weekend. 26 in ICU, 16 on vent, 5 on heart-lung bypass. Approaching our January max (63) with no indication things are slowing down. Mask up/vax up plz!
@drcampatterson@uamshealth The last time things were this bad, we were urged to stay home as much as possible, which I did. What sorts of things should I do/not do now if I've been vaccinated since Jan/Feb? Thanks for your leadership, btw. AR needs more of it!
Employers are allowed to ask about vaccine status but employees are not required to answer. But failure to disclose vaccine status could result in the employee being treated as if they refused the vaccine, and there can be consequences for those refusing beyond medical/religious.
Since this has become an issue...HIPAA only applies to HIPAA-covered entities — healthcare providers, health plans, their business associates. It doesn’t apply to an employer asking proof of vaccine status and the EEOC determined that asking isn’t a violation of federal law
I don't care why he did it.
I don't care what he said before.
Fox News viewers believe in Hannity, he told them to get vaccinated, and we need more of that from THEM.
It could make a huge difference.
If you care about hospitals being able to take care of sick people who need care and you aren't vaccinated, GET VACCINATED IMMEDIATELY AND GET BOTH DOSES.
@uamscancer We had a mtg with the GOV this AM. Hospitals are all full right now and cases are doubling about every 10 days. If that trend continues, there will be significant challenges in providing care for both COVID and non-COVID pts over the next 2 weeks.
As a scientist/future doc, I'm heartbroken that misinformation has caused/will cause 1000s of needless deaths, and that antivax/antiscience sentiment is so common in big segments of the GOP. Listen to health professionals. They know their stuff and care about you. Get vaccinated.
On June 30, 2020, Arkansas reported 520 new #COVID cases.
On June 30, 2021, Arkansas reported 686 new #COVID cases.
90% of new cases are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated folks. Those of us who have kids who cannot get vaccinated yet are BEGGING you to get your shots.
Addendum: I'm a pro-life Christian and would feel morally comfortable prescribing Plan B (once I can prescribe 😂). There are also lots of pro-life physicians who, after carefully looking at the evidence we have, feel the same way.
Hi, 2nd year medical student here. Plan B does not kill an embryo/fetus that has already implanted. As far as we know, it doesn't even prevent implantation. It prevents ovulation and keeps sperm from getting through the cervix. That's it. Get your facts straight, ma'am. 🙄
Greene: I’d like just to take a minute and remind everyone that words matter… Contraception stops a woman from becoming pregnant. The Plan B pill kills a baby in the womb…
