If your kid can make every tournament but misses gathering with the Church 3 out of 4 weeks… you didn’t raise an athlete. You raised an idol worshipper.
In an interview with Chuck Swindoll in 2015, Joni Eareckson Tada explained an unexpected desire involving her wheelchair, which she has been confined to as a quadriplegic since 1967:
"...I do hope that I can take my wheelchair to Heaven with me. I know that's not theologically correct, but if I could, I would put it right there. And I'd be standing in my new glorified body right here, and I'd be holding the hand of Jesus, and I would feel those nail prints in His palm.
And I will say, 'Thank you,' and I know He'll know I mean it, because He will have recognized me as the woman who came to Him every single morning, hemorrhaging human strength: 'I need you, Jesus, desperately.'
And I will say to Him, 'Jesus, you were so right when You said that in this world we would have trouble. That thing was a lot of trouble, but the weaker I was on that thing, the harder I leaned on You. And the harder I leaned on You, the stronger I just discovered You to be. And I'm just so grateful that You gave me the privilege of knowing You as not only my Man of Sorrows, but the Lord of Joy, Rock of Gibraltar, real Joy.
Thank you, Jesus. And now, if you want, you can send that thing to Hell. Woohoo! Get it outta here!'"
The #Yankees begin beisbol tonight. Couldn't be more ready. IF anyone were to even question my faith in God, I'll remind them that I didn't cancel our midweek Bible study.
My dad was a bivocational pastor who lost his pulpit and his day job to Multiple Sclerosis. He never let this disease keep him from talking to others about Jesus and helping others build things that he could no longer build due to his disability. He taught me, by his example, to never give up. He continued to serve others and the church as a volunteer until he died three years ago.
The last major construction project he supervised was a Methodist church building in NC
Jesus was unvaccinated
Jesus fed the poor without using the government or raising taxes
Jesus defined marriage as M + F
Jesus told people to buy self-defense weapons
Jesus was majority-culture in his region
Jesus only selected men for leadership positions
You can selectively-edit Jesus to be a mascot for virtually any cause, but he is a Lord not a mascot.
Most modern Christians read the Bible through the lens of dispensationalism without even realizing it. Yet for nearly eighteen centuries the church did not read Scripture that way.
The idea that God has two separate peoples with two separate plans, one for Israel and another for the church, is not taught in Scripture. The apostles spoke of one people of God united in Christ. Paul writes, “He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall” (Ephesians 2:14). In Christ, believing Jews and believing Gentiles are not two programs. They are one body.
The New Testament goes even further. Those who belong to Christ are called the true seed of Abraham. “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise” (Galatians 3:29). The promise is fulfilled not through ethnic lineage but through union with the Messiah.
This is why the apostles never preached a return to temple sacrifices, never spoke of two parallel covenant peoples, and never told the church to wait for God to restart a separate plan with Israel. Instead they preached that the promises of God find their fulfilment in Christ. “For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes” (2 Corinthians 1:20).
That raises an uncomfortable question for modern theology.
If the apostles taught one people of God in Christ, why do so many Christians today divide what the gospel has united?
Whatever Gov. Tim Walz says, believe the opposite.
The man learned to lie before he learned to talk.
He’s like a less masculine version of Hillary Clinton.
"Success isn't linear" by Yoann Bourgeois
Success is not a straight line upwards, it's a journey with many falls, and the strength to get up, no matter how hard the fall.

In short Biblical masculinity means being strong in body, character, and faith while submitting to God.
It’s about providing, protecting, leading with integrity, showing courage and gentleness, exercising self-control, seeking wisdom, and loving others sacrificially.
@ryanvisconti@howertonjosh Tell me you’re theobro without telling me you’re a theobro. When you meet Jesus he will be more concerned about how you raised your kids than he will ever be about how many church services you had around Christmas.
@ShawnRyan762@ShawnRyanShow I’ve started listening to it and these interviews are why I respect you so much. For me it’s difficult to listen to. My brother had substance abuse issues and so I can tell when the BS starts flowing. So far I e heard a lot of that in this interview
