Perth is where I first fell in love with rural medicine as a med student, and it's where I was when the pandemic was first announced in 2020. Superb ED when I was there, devastating to hear about its course
RURAL RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT #6: Featuring Dr. William Wu (@willwu22)
Dr. Wu is a PGY1 at the Queen's Family Medicine Belleville-Quinte residency program. He also completed his medical school at the School of Medicine at Queen's University. Video: https://t.co/cbu8DLWjfT
This took me an embarrassing amount of brain power to read but if I'm understanding this correctly... "SpIN and "SnOUT" rules are completely misleading?? #mindblown https://t.co/qrToSyiC3c
Tomorrow I graduate from medical school. I wrote this to myself 4 years ago on my first day. Hereโs to keeping that same energy throughout residency.
The past 6 months I have been reflecting a lot on the CaRMS process and how dramatically it affects all med students. In trying to process my thoughts and emotions, I started writing things down & with Match Day this week, I decided to share.
Good luck to all my fellow 2021s!
@willwu22 et al evaluate the hypothesis that EM attendings are faster and more accurate at ECG interpretation than residents and medical students; and how are they able to process this information so much quicker while maintaining accuracy? #FOAMed

How to commute to work: Moose Factory Edition
In all seriousness, words canโt describe how grateful I am to have had this experience. This has been the most eye opening, career altering rotation of my clerkship - and I will carry these lessons from the North forever. Thank you.
Always remember that someone is looking up to you. I recall how as a pre-med Iโd be in awe of med students. As a med student Iโd be in absolute awe of surgery residents. Now Iโm in awe of my chiefs and fellows. It never ends. Where you are is so important.

Family medicine #carms letters will now be according to a rubric. There is a question about if tearfulness has been observed, and lumps it with anger and defensiveness. Being a medical learner is very hard, and this attitude contributes to the toxic culture of #MedEd.
