St. Thomas Aquinas (5A, 13-0) wins its second consecutive state title (last year in 4A) as they finish a perfect season, defeating Hays 35-13 for the 5A state championship on Saturday night in Emporia. Kansas coaching legend Randy Dreiling now with a state record of 10 state football titles as a head coach. He has three at Aquinas and had seven at Hutchinson prior. In the sectional round of the Kansas 5A Football Playoffs, two of the top teams in the metro square off as the Saints host the Mill Valley Jaguars. Both the Saints and Jaguars are coming off State Championship seasons with the Saints the 4A champs and Jaguars winning the last 5 State Titles in 5A.
