Let’s examine this properly, is it banter, or ignorance?
People question Forex traders for teaching what they know. But think about it.
Authors teach and write books. Coaches sell programs. Consultants sell strategy. Big corporations sell products
When someone reaches mastery, they monetise their:
• Knowledge • Systems • Experience • Influence
Some sell products. Some sell services. Some sell expertise.
There’s nothing wrong with monetising knowledge. That’s how impact scales.
Let’s leave this mindset behind Abeg
Just coming back to my earlier point about AI.
Jack Dorsey has laid off 40% of Block’s workforce.
No lengthy email.
No all-hands meeting.
Just a tweet.
And before the day was out, 4,000 careers had changed course.
Upskill and build influence.
Lean into the parts of the job that require human thinking, making decisions, solving messy problems, understanding people and leading when things are uncertain.
The future doesn’t just land on us.
We get ready for it.
And here’s the twist…
You might be documenting the processes.
Feeding the data.
Testing the systems.
Helping build the very tools that could reduce the need for your role.
Here’s the uncomfortable truth:
If your role is built around repetitive, rules-based tasks, there’s a real chance it won’t look the same in a few years.
Eventually, one of the speakers responded:
“We are not trying to take away anybody’s job we are only seeking ways to help you be more productive and focus on this things that add value.”
That sounded reassuring.
But it didn’t really answer the question.
At a conference I attended recently, in the middle of all the excitement about AI and other emerging technologies, someone asked a single question that cut through the noise.
“How do we make sure AI doesn’t take our jobs?”
And then came the deafening silence.
And here’s the twist…
