Shawn: Uh oh.
Juliet: What’s wrong?
Shawn: They only put one name on the plaque.
Juliet: So?
Shawn: So Gus is going to have an aneurysm. And not the good kind.

"Three times I pleaded with the Lord [to remove my pain]. But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’" 2 Cor. 12:8-9. Ponder the implications for prayer, for suffering, and for the supremacy of Christ in the purposes of Christ.
I think we struggle processing it in large part because we struggle understanding it. When we realize the grief we have experienced is not personal, and therefore not a reflection of our own worth, we are more free to accept what brought us grief, and then what brings us love. 🙏
