@BoBiskup @scootmonkey12@NationMffl Usually if you’re 23 (will be 24 before season), it’s not cause you were more pro-ready than most.
Worry is you’re better than college guys cause you out-physicaled them, which won’t translate. Not a huge amount of 4+ year college guys are awesome. Still could be solid role guy
Think a lot of the volume of left handed finishing, poor shooting (3PT and FT) can be attributed to playing through that. But he’s been wearing that athletic tape/splint on his shooting hand for approaching 2 months now.
@ZachLowe_NBA good morning Zach! Enjoyed the last pod. During the Cooper Flagg discussion, it never came up that he’s been playing with a sprained right thumb since an early November game vs WAS. 3PT % was still bad (shade over 30%). This was still during PG Flagg era.
@JordanRaanan He’s playing his 8th career start - guy needs reps. Based on your logic he shouldn’t have played the whole second half.
Can’t just put him in bubble wrap, has to learn to protect himself and play at this level.
@colinkeane_@corvusglaive19@BillSimmons He doesn’t have an explicit no-trade clause - but I do think he has veto rights due to his contract being a 1+ 1 that would forfeit his bird rights if traded.
@colinkeane_@BillSimmons Would be interested if Memphis would be willing to take FVV, Sheppard & Eason without much/any pick consideration.
If Houston isn’t planning on paying Eason and with DFS playing a similar role. Keep the picks to replenish the roster with all the large upcoming contacts.
@jga41agher Fair enough. Hopefully the effort portion is just a “this is a preseason game and doesn’t matter” issue.
Unfortunately think the clunky offense might be sticking around.
@jga41agher Good, no.
But I also don’t think the score is 100% telling the truth either.
Wonder how much of this zone is going to translate to the regular season.
@NBA_University There would need to be some sort of timeline to implement. Draft pick value would increase even more if you know your own draftees don’t count as heavily versus the tax. OKC would be out of the tax/ have relief forever with all of their current draft picks.
@DeathbyCeltics @KevinOConnorNBA @DanielMunday Well, yeah. Before it was a rush to get paid, and if you weren’t ready then you flamed out of the league in a few years.
Now if you aren’t ready, you go back, still get paid, and hopefully increase your odds of actually sticking in the league.
Seems like a win-win for all
@KMorsony @JustinVerrier Free throws are a skill in themselves. I like that better than winning team dribbles out the clock for 20 seconds, takes a shot. Losing team fires quick shot and misses. Winning team dribbles 20 seconds and game is over.
So the last 45 seconds of a game we watched a guy dribble
@JeremyAChase@SeanFennessey I mean, fundamentally, that is what the rule would be. You’re making a rule to give the losing side better chances.
Definitely is worse, 100% agree there.
There isn’t another, rule applies to one team, rule in basketball that I’m aware of. So I feel we need a diff solution.
@JeremyAChase@SeanFennessey So we’re just building in comeback mechanics for the team who lost the first 47 minutes and 50 seconds of the game? If one team can intentionally foul, the other can too. There’s no other “winning team can, losing team can’t” rule that exists
