In conclusion, I never needed to learn Finnish in the first place, since all Finns speak English. So, I spent 10 months or so dutifully learning a bunch of useless phrases for no real benefit, but now I can pretend to understand Finnish slightly better than I could before.

Okay, time for a final review of the Finnish Duolingo course now that I've finished it. Can I tell you about the bears in the bogs? Yes. Can I tell you about the sharks wearing shirts? Also yes. Can I tell you about the owls buying towels for the wolverine who growls? YES!

Do I have any practically usable knowledge of Finnish? No. Can I read Finnish websites? No. Can I speak Finnish in everyday life? Also no. Can I watch Finnish TV or understand Finnish music? Oh god no.

The most interesting take I've seen on the Fetterman/Oz campaign is that, in contrast to the usual DNC doomsday-speak about how dangerous Republicans are, Fetterman's entire message is basically, "LOL look at this fucking tool." And it's working.

I'm getting flyers in the mail saying that radicals are trying to murder dialysis patients by beating them to death with healthy kidneys, which means someone is trying to pass a proposition that dialysis clinics need to, i don't know, install hand washing stations or something.
