@StrikingBroly@CaryKelly11 My first home is valued on Zillow at under 170K, and the interest rate is half what I had to pay. You can still afford a home but it is likely below your expectations.
@BoomerDivvies It was very difficult to realize you weren’t going to spend it all after living very frugally whole life. But I’m over the hump down and fly first class.
@pthread_mutex_t@MaxMcGuireCPA Difficult to pay early at those rates. The last two generations have no clue what interest rates in the teens can do to a paycheck. My second home was at 10% and felt like I had stole the money
@KristySellsLV Now do median sq footage from the late 70s. My first home in 81 was 1100 ft sq, (and a 14% interest rate). Smaller homes are still available, you don't have to ask for it just find it Mine hasn't burned down.
@KCH_76@hockeymommy19@jeremyct I can remember when one had to have at least a basic understanding of math to enter college. This would include principle/interest calculations. Those days are apparently gone.
