@CryptoHog6@whitepizzaolla On the right day of the week you can't buy milk in many countries in Europe, period. Perhaps if you had a car you could drive to another country for your shopping.
@MiracleOfDefeat@Bocchi_is_me Insulation which keeps heat inside is very similar to the insulation which keeps cool inside. R doesn't care about the direction of the temperature differential.
@HHedgeson@laskin Her first (and probably the only) language is English therefore she is intellectually superior and objectively correct. And if some word in a foreign language sounds anywhere close to an English word it must literally mean the exact same thing as in English.
@shavil0mi@nic_amadio Exactly! They subsidize those at the taxpayer expense, they point out the costs associated with it, and they pay very serious attention. All that, while warm coats and blankets are readily and inexpensively available at your favorite retailers.
@shavil0mi@nic_amadio But the electricity prices are not the reason. Noone bats an eye about using a heat pump to create a 20C temperature differential in winter. Creating a 10C temperature differential in summer uses substantially less energy.
@trashjuicecube It’s not allowed in the UK to get the tax credits to pay for the heat pump if the heat pump can be used for air air-conditioning. As a result, most heat pumps in the UK aren’t set up to be used as air conditioners because of government policy.
