@kyoruyeye Botan affirming that she’s okay in the deeper water at the gorge with Ibuki, the bath and the sea of stars in the following episode, and then Chin-Lan’s dialogue/this whole sequence here…
@true0bIue the manga is very okay? There are some interesting ideas but it’s kinda uneven and it kinda ends up putting all its eggs in one basket in a way that just didn’t really work for me, personally
@kyoruyeye like sorry I saw you posting about Emiri and asa (which makes sense given where the show was) but I think the actual way it resolves is so good? And ties in so well to the broader themes, like her having her own whole life and journey outside of Asa is perfect imo
@BloodRaven55 sorry this is just showing up in my FYP but YES I love the way the manga depicts this; even in the early chapters too there’s moments where you just have them staring at each other and the tension is so palpable….
@yuriman6_25 Miyagi is definitely in a dress because Sendai insists, but less sure about Sendai…? Like i could see them both in dresses but I could see Miyagi being like “well one of us has to wear a suit” out of stubborn-ness and Sendai going along with that for her
@yuriman6_25 it dooooes feel like there was maybe an editorial shift at some point because the worst stuff is definitely at the beginning? But yeah it deeply frustrates me bc I think has the potential to be Very Good, and yet.
(sorrry this is my very lukewarm Akebi-chan take)
@yuriman6_25 like the most charitable way to look at it is that they clearly have a fascination with the human body in motion bc that extends to the way the adult characters are drawn too, but like half the comic is just leering at extremely young girls in a way that’s you can’t really ignore
